Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) of the DP system, identifying single-point failures across power generation, distribution, control and position-reference systems that could exceed the worst-case failure design intent. Required for DP Class 2 and DP Class 3 notation under IMO MSC.1/Circ.1580 and IMCA M 166, with FMEA proving trials confirming the desktop analysis onboard and revalidation at five-yearly intervals.

FMEA proving trials validating the desktop analysis under controlled fault conditions
Five-yearly FMEA revalidation, with updated proving trials where the system, procedures or operating environment have changed
Verification of hidden failures and protective-function response

DELIVERABLE
A class-submittable FMEA/FMECA report documenting failure modes, WCF/WCFDI, proving-trial results and corrective actions, forming the reference document for the next five-yearly revalidation.
